Parts Manager & Inventory
JOB OVERVIEW
The Parts & Inventory Manager is responsible for the overall management of parts and inventory at the service center. He or she ensures optimal availability of the parts needed for truck maintenance and repair operations, while optimizing costs, inventory levels, and logistics processes.
Through his or her inspiring leadership and strategic vision, he or she directly contributes to the service center’s operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee all operations related to parts and inventory management (receiving, storage, distribution, and shipping);
- Lead, motivate, and develop the warehouse and parts team;
- Define and implement inventory management strategies to ensure parts availability while minimizing surpluses and stockouts;
- Analyze inventory levels, consumption trends, and operational needs to optimize stock levels;
- Work closely with service, procurement, and production teams to align priorities;
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to processes related to MRP/ERP systems (e.g., EPICOR / Inteli-Dealer)
- Establish and monitor inventory-related key performance indicators (KPIs) (turnover, accuracy, lead times, service rates);
- Oversee cyclical and annual inventory counts and ensure their accuracy;
- Optimize the physical layout of the warehouse and storage methods;
- Identify and implement initiatives for the continuous improvement of logistics and inventory processes;
- Participate in parts requirements planning based on service activities and forecasts;
- Ensure effective communication among various stakeholders;
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards within your team
- Manage disciplinary situations as needed;
- Perform any other related duties associated with the position.
In your Toolkit
- DEC or BA in operations management, logistics, procurement, or a related field;
- 5 years of experience in inventory management or logistics, including team management experience;
- Experience in a manufacturing or after-sales service environment is a significant asset;
- Good knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (EPICOR / Inteli-Dealer is a significant asset);
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage inventory data;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate/advanced Excel);
- Bilingualism (French/English), a plus.
