E360s, Rollins Machinery & Labrie Group, developing a 4-compartment truck
Québec, March 25, 2026 – Chilliwack is introducing a new four-stream collection approach. A new curbside collection program in Chilliwack, British Columbia, will introduce a fleet of custom-built, four-compartment trucks designed to collect multiple material streams in a single stop. The program is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2026, as part of E360S’ new collection contract.
Developed in partnership between E360S, Rollins Machinery, our distributor on Canada’s West Coast, and Labrie Group, this custom configuration of our Labrie side loader was designed to collect garbage, glass, soft plastics, and recyclables, while remaining on a standard chassis and within the permitted weight limits for urban road use. One of the distinctive features of the concept is a dedicated compartment for compacting soft plastics, helping provide a new curbside collection option for materials that have often been recovered through drop-off locations until now.
According to the article, this initiative is part of a broader movement in British Columbia to expand soft plastics recovery options as the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework continues to evolve. Chilliwack residents are also expected to receive a new pink bin for soft plastics when the program is rolled out.
This project illustrates how collaboration between collection operations, equipment design, and vehicle manufacturing can help municipalities explore new ways to improve route efficiency, reduce the number of trucks on the road, and support broader recycling objectives.
